FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Which is your most popular product?

Our most popular deodorant is the Original version.

How does Back to Basics work?

Back to Basics natural deodorant neutralises body odour by naturally creating an environment in which odour causing bacteria can’t grow.

What is the shelf life of the natural deodorant?

An unopened tin has a twelve months’ shelf life. Once opened, the shelf life will be at least 6 – 12 months.

How long will a 60g tin of Back to Basics last me?

A 60g tin should last at least a month, once applied, as stated on the label.

How is Back to Basics applied?

Back to Basics is applied with your fingers, onto your dry and clean underarms; in the same manner you would apply a cream to your skin.

What differentiates Back to Basics from other natural deodorants?

Our combination of ingredients have been extensively researched and tested, to achieve amazing results for all users.  It’s been specifically developed for South Africa’s unique climate. It’s easy to apply, has great consistency, and lasts the whole day.

We’ve packaged it in re-usable and environmentally friendly tins. Compact and easily stored for travelling purposes.

Will Back to Basics stop me from sweating?

No. Back to Basics is not an antiperspirant and does not block pores.

Sweating is a natural, healthy and needed bodily function. The ingredients in Back to Basics were designed to absorb moisture and may reduce sweating with continued use.

How long will my body take to fully benefit from Back to Basics?

Allow a period of about 3 – 5 days for your underarms to adjust to the natural goodness of Back to Basics.

Is Back to Basics safe to use?

Yes, our ingredients are natural and safe to use.

Should you have a reaction to the bicarb in Back to Basics Original or Fragrance Free, we have Back to Basics Bicarb Free as an alternative.

Why does Original & Fragrance Free have a slight grainy texture on my fingers?

What you’re feeling, is the bicarbonate of soda we use in Back to Basics Original and Fragrance Free. Bicarb is a great odour neutraliser.  Once applied as directed you will not feel the bicarb granules under your arms, unless you have applied too much.

Where is Back to Basics made?

Back to Basics is proudly made in South Africa.

Does Back to Basics have a pleasant smell?

Back to Basics has a subtle and fresh organic essential oil blend. Alternatively, we have a fragrance-free option allowing you to continue using your favourite fragrance with Back to Basics.

Can I apply the deodorant after shaving?

Keep in mind that skin is at its most sensitive after shaving.

We suggest that you rather do not put Back to Basics on right after shaving.

If you can, wait a while before application, or alternatively shave at night so that your underarms have time to heal, or patch test first.

Is it safe to use whilst pregnant?

Back to Basics Fragrance Free version does not contain essential oils and should be safe to use whilst pregnant. However, please confirm with your local doctor.

How do I store Back to Basics?
